Thai Airways (TG)

Thai Airways International is the national commercial airline of Thailand. The commercial airline functions home, local, and overseas routes to locations all over the community. The main hub of Indian Air passage Worldwide is Bangkok International Airport. In 2006, Indian international was acknowledged with the prize of 'Worlds Best Cottage Staff and The Best Airline in the World' by Skytrax. Last year, Thai Airways International's first class living room at Suvarnabhumi Flight terminal was respected as the 'best First Class Lounge in the World', by Skytrax.

History: Thai Airways International was established in 1960, as a partnership between Thailands home commercial airline, Thai Airways Organization (TAC) and Scandinavian Air carriers System (SAS). The commercial airline started its functions in 1960, with routes to nine offshore destinations within Oriental place. In 1971, Thai Airways started its offshore services, with routes to Australia, followed by routes to Europe in 1972 and to North America in 1980. In 1988, Thai Airways Worldwide joined with the home commercial airline, Thai Airways Organization. In 1991, Thailand Government approved a resolution permitting Thai Airways to list its stocks on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). Therefore, listing of Thai Airways stocks was started on July 19, 1991.

Destinations: Covered Thai Airways has an extensive network in India. Presently, it flies to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore. By the end of October 2006, Thai Airways added Bodhgaya, Varanasi, and Hyderabad to its list of destinations. In Asia, it also serves China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Kuwait, Oman and UAE.

Fleet: As of April 2009, Indian Air passage Worldwide had a navy of 90 jets. This involved 18 Boeing 747-400, six Boeing 777-300, eight Boeing 777-200, nine Boeing 737-400, four Airbus 340-500, six Airbus 340-600, 14 Airbus 330-300, 17 Airbus A300-600, and 2 ATR-72.

Baggage Allowance: The checked baggage allowance for Royal First Class is 40 kgs, Royal Silk Class 30 kgs and Economy Class 20 kgs. Surplus weight over the baggage allowance will be charged at the standard excess baggage rate.
